My name is Ruthie; I am a writer and an artist.
At seventeen, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Although I have always enjoyed writing and painting, I put them aside to pursue a "real" job. After thirteen years of that job, my health forced me to quit. To keep occupied I started painting. Creating art allowed me to focus less on my pain and more on the amazing world in which we live.
Recently a dear friend encouraged me to start writing again. Taking his advice, I enrolled in an online writing course. I primarily write nonfiction articles, however I also write short stories, like this one I wrote entitled Missing The Bus.
