My name is Ruthie. I have been a "artist wanna-be" most of my life. I was always doodling little sketches of the objects around me. Any blank spot on a piece of paper was eventually adorned with some of "Ruthie's Art."

A few years ago my Rhuematoid Arthritis made working a "real job" difficult, so I decided to leave my job and become a full time artist. Creating art allows me focus less on my pain and more on the amazing world around us. I get joy from making something unique and beautiful. I also love exploring the various mediums, discovering their different qualities and limitations.

As a new artist, I try to explore the many facets of my imagination and depict them in my work. I seldom paint actual scenes, but take impressions and feelings from life in general to create my paintings. My desire is to bring these elements into each creation. I especially hope you enjoy looking at them.
